We offer a wide range of ORCA IRELAND Certified Courses for students and professionals who wish to enhance their marine megafauna species identification skills.
*Note, this 1 day course aims to train individuals on observation techniques and marine megafauna species identification with a focus on marine mammals, seabirds and sharks, and although it includes a proficiency test and certificate, it does not permit you to work as a professional Marine Mammal Observer (MMO). It is however, a good prior stepping stone to test your field and species identification skills of marine megafauna. Completion will also be looked on favourably when applying for positions within ORCA. This course has a 90% pass rate, so it is advised that attendees revise our Species Identification Portal prior to booking a spot on-board.
